Will Hodges, President of Cadence McShane Construction Company, is pleased to announce that Plano Independent School District (Plano ISD) has selected the firm to serve as Construction Manager At-Risk for the new construction and renovation assignment at Bethany Elementary School.
The educational institution, located at 2418 Micarta Drive in Plano, Texas, opened its doors in 1993. The expansion and improvement project is being funded under the District’s 2008 Bond Program and incorporates 15,127 square feet of new construction and 60,734 square feet of renovation that will be completed in phases by Cadence McShane prior to the beginning of the 2015 school year.
As part of the assignment, new construction will be incorporated throughout the facility’s classroom area in order to achieve Texas Education Agency (TEA) sized classrooms and support space. The administrative office area will also undergo an expansion to accommodate the necessary school personnel for the growing educational facility.
Throughout renovation, components within the building will be updated and modernized through new wall and floor coverings, lighting, building and life safety systems and classroom equipment and technology. Cadence McShane will also complete enhancements to sitework as well as improvements to the building’s landscaping and irrigation system.
“Cadence McShane has served on many projects on behalf of Plano ISD and is committed to continuing the enhancement and foundations of our long-standing and trusted relationship,” remarked Hodges. “Our team of professionals is highly-skilled in providing comprehensive construction services within educational facilities without compromising the safety of the students, faculty or visitors and remains focused on the delivery of a high-quality learning environment making the assignment a positive experience for all.”
Perkins + Will has been selected to provide the architectural services for this expansion and renovation assignment.
