Cadence McShane Selected By Frisco ISD for Career and Technical Education Center Assignment

October 27, 2014

Will Hodges, President of Cadence McShane Construction Company, is pleased to announce that the firm has been selected by Frisco Independent School District (Frisco ISD) to complete the comprehensive new construction and renovation assignment at its award-winning high school, the Career and Technical Education Center (CTE Center). Located at 9889 Wade Boulevard in Frisco, Texas, Cadence McShane originally completed this high school facility for Frisco ISD in 2008 but the District’s successful programs have necessitated the school’s expansion and upgrades. Cadence McShane began the assignment in August with a scheduled completion in June 2015.

CTE Center is internationally recognized and offers more than 30 programs to high school students within a variety of industries providing them with a career-focused skillset prior to entering the workforce.  Students complete introductory and core classes at their home high school campus and attend the CTE Center for specialized programs utilizing real-world learning environments and equipment.

The firm will complete 44,090 square feet of new construction providing additional multi-purpose classrooms and teacher workrooms, in addition to the expansion of the geothermal well fields to accommodate the HVAC systems within the building.  The exterior finishes of the facility’s addition will seamlessly integrate with the existing structure that utilized a blend of brick and composite aluminum panels.

“We are pleased to return to Frisco ISD’s Career and Technical Education Center providing new construction and renovation services to support the educational goals and growing enrollment at the campus that we originally constructed in 2008,” remarked Hodges.  “With students and facility attending the facility throughout the course of construction, Cadence McShane will implement its comprehensive safety program to ensure that the co-existence of construction work and educational goals will be achieved simultaneously.”

SHW Group, now Stantec, is providing the architectural services for the new construction and renovation assignment.
