Srinath Pai Kasturi, Vice President and General Manager of the Austin office of Cadence McShane Construction Company, is pleased to announce that the firm has completed the 23,150 square foot headquarters and manufacturing facility for Voltabox of Texas, Inc. The build-to-suit is located on a prominent six-acre site at 1500 Volta Drive that Voltabox acquired from master developer, TIG Real Estate Services, Inc., at its Scottsdale Crossing Commerce Park in Cedar Park, Texas.
The delivery of this comprehensive and strategically located facility positions Voltabox within this growing suburb of Austin that offers direct access to US 183A via Scottsdale Drive and the greater Austin area.
As members of the paragon Group of Companies, Voltabox of Texas, Inc. and Voltabox Deutschland GmbH are leading world suppliers of intrinsically-safe, high-performance Lithium Ion batteries for all types of vehicle-based and stationary uses. The new build-to-suit represents the firm’s first North American operation requiring a thoughtful layout that supports streamlined automation and end-to-end processing capabilities to fulfill the firm’s growing demands.
Cadence McShane constructed the facility utilizing a steel frame and insulated tiltwall panels. The main entrance and office component of the headquarters facility features an attractive glass curtainwall exterior accented with red metal panels complementing the Voltabox brand. The interior of the building maximizes manufacturing efficiencies incorporating sophisticated assembly technology, a 20’ clear height and four dock doors. As part of the assignment, Cadence McShane completed the project’s associated sitework including landscaping, generous on-site vehicle parking and sidewalks.

The new build-to-suit assignment represents Cadence McShane’s second project within TIG Real Estate Services, Inc.’s well-positioned Scottsdale Crossing Commerce Park. The firm previously constructed an adjacent build-to-suit research facility for the property occupied by Dana Holdings Corporation.
