Srinath Pai Kasturi, Vice President and General Manager of the Austin office of Cadence McShane Construction Company, is pleased to announce that the firm was selected for the new 23,150 square foot headquarters and manufacturing facility for Voltabox of Texas, Inc. The build-to-suit is currently under construction on a premier six-acre parcel at 1500 Volta Drive that Voltabox acquired from master developer, TIG Real Estate Services, Inc., at its Scottsdale Crossing Commerce Park in Cedar Park, Texas. This premier location strategically positions Voltabox’s operations within this growing suburb of Austin that also offers direct access to US 183A via Scottsdale Road and the greater Austin area. Cadence McShane broke ground in October with final completion slated for Second Quarter 2015.
As members of the paragon Group of Companies, Voltabox of Texas, Inc. and Voltabox Deutschland GmbH are leading world suppliers of intrinsically-safe, high-performance Lithium Ion batteries for all types of vehicle-based and stationary uses. The new build-to-suit represents the firm’s first North American operation necessitating a comprehensive layout supporting streamlined automation and end-to-end processing capabilities to fulfill the growing demands within the market.
Cadence McShane is constructing the facility utilizing a steel frame and insulated tiltwall panels. The office component of the headquarters facility will feature an attractive glass curtainwall exterior accented with metal panels and contemporary window lines. The interior of the building will maximize manufacturing efficiencies incorporating sophisticated assembly technology, a 20’ clear height and four dock doors. As part of the assignment, Cadence McShane will also complete the project’s associated sitework including landscaping, generous on-site vehicle parking and sidewalks.

The new build-to-suit assignment represents Cadence McShane’s second project within TIG Real Estate Services, Inc.’s well-positioned Scottsdale Crossing Commerce Park. The firm previously constructed an adjacent building and completed the comprehensive tenant improvements for the property occupied by Dana Holdings Corporation.
