Cadence McShane Construction Company is pleased to announce that the firm has completed additions at Veramendi Elementary School for New Braunfels Independent School District.
Designed by Stantec, the 9,000-square-foot additions incorporate eight new classrooms. The additions are located at the end of each of the four existing classroom wings, with two new classrooms in each wing. The expansion will allow the school to continue to grow and serve families in New Braunfels.
The additions were completed in two phases. The first phase involved the demolition of the exterior walls of the two south corridors followed by construction of the new classrooms, and the second phase involved demolition and construction on the two west corridors.
“It was great to work with New Braunfels ISD again at Veramendi Elementary,” shared Srinath Pai Kasturi, Executive Vice President of Cadence McShane. “The school now has eight new, state-of-the-art classrooms ready for students and staff to enjoy in time for the 2020-2021 school year.”
Cadence McShane completed the initial construction of the 93,151-square-foot Veramendi Elementary School in 2017. Construction included 38 classrooms, a library, gym, cafeteria, multi-purpose labs, and music rooms, as well as a basketball court and playground outside. The firm successfully procured and installed finishes and fixtures for the addition to match the existing school.
