George Washington Carver Museum

Cadence McShane Construction Company completed the construction of the 32,680-square-foot George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center located in Austin, Texas. The museum is dedicated to the collection, preservation, research and exhibition of historical and cultural materials reflecting all dimensions of experiences of persons of African descent living in the United States.

The LEED-Certified facility features a 39-foot ceiling entryway to accommodate the staging of museum exhibits and artifacts. The museum also has a 140-seat theatre for drama and dance performances with stage equipment, a dance studio, classrooms, offices and an exhibit area for permanent and touring gallery displays. An addition of 6,000 square feet to the existing library doubles its capacity, and includes a new reading room, study room and computer lab.
