Cadence McShane Construction Company is pleased to announce the completion of Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy, a new construction replacement school for Dallas Independent School District.
Located on the existing campus, the three-story, 143,000-square-foot middle school offers an expansive academic portion, administrative offices, fine arts spaces, a theater, library, cafeteria and kitchen, physical education facilities, a tornado shelter, and various site improvements.
“I am proud of the way our team delivered this new replacement campus on a tight site while the existing school remained in session,” commented Wade Wimbish, Vice President of Education at Cadence McShane. “It took close coordination and collaboration to keep the campus operating day to day, and we are pleased to bring a facility to the community that supports learning while fostering connection and engagement.”
As part of the project, Cadence also completed demolition and abatement of the previous facility. Work was phased to allow continued operation of the existing school throughout construction.
The architect of record is Huckabee.
