Kyle, Texas – On the morning of September 11, 2022, the City of Kyle hosted the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Heroes Memorial Park, a recreational space honoring veterans, first responders, and other community heroes.
Heroes Memorial Park is part of the first phase of The Brick-and-Mortar District, a 138-acre pedestrian-oriented, mixed-used development within the Plum Creek master planned community.
The landscape architecture was designed by Nudge Design and the park was built by Cadence McShane Construction. Working closely with the City of Kyle, this team was able to create a beautiful, commemorative haven for its residents to enjoy.
“We are honored to be part of this project,” stated Tyler Earle, Business Unit Leader, and Director of Operations for Cadence McShane. “It was a pleasure working with the City of Kyle to build a park so deeply meaningful to the community.”
Nudge Design did an excellent job featuring the natural landscape and creating a park-like environment while Cadence McShane worked tirelessly to ensure every detail of the project was constructed with care.
“The best aspect of Heroes Memorial Park is the fact that it was built at all.” Commented Mayor Travis Mitchell during his Ribbon Cutting speech. “…With this much attention to detail and this level of investment, to build something like this requires a collaborative effort, insight, and support, and the vision must be sustained for the duration of the project. Thankfully, there have been leaders who courageously carried it forward.”
This project was truly a collaborative effort and could not have been done without the level of dedication shown by all parties. The park is now open to the public and features a range of attractions for families including an educational memorial honoring the heroes of Kyle and Hays County in an inviting and inclusive atmosphere.
