Cadence McShane provided design-build construction services for Container Star Warehouse. The tiltwall, rear-load facility incorporates a 2,500-square-foot office and 145,200 square feet of warehouse space with a 39′ clear height. Positioned on a 17.95-acre site, the development also includes drive areas, a truck court, 133 vehicle parking stations, and detention basins.
The design-build project delivery method provided the client the security of having a single source of responsibility for both the design and construction of the project. Cadence McShane was engaged by the client prior to the start of the building design. This enabled the firm to work closely with both the owner and architect throughout the design process to determine the optimal layout and features before finalizing the guaranteed maximum price. Additional benefits included a shorter overall project schedule and a reduced burden on the client’s resources.
