Lake Highlands High School Addition, Renovation, and MAC
Cadence McShane completed the construction of Lake Highlands High School Addition/Renovation and MAC (Multi-Purpose Activity Center) for Richardson ISD located in Dallas, Texas. The multi-phased project began with the construction of the 78,000-square-foot MAC, including a large indoor practice facility with an 80-yard practice field, and a 24,000-square-foot Class A structure including office suites, locker rooms, and sport support areas.
The project also included a 144,000-square-foot “HUB” addition that connects the ninth-grade center with the existing high school facility, while also providing an expanded cafeteria and kitchen, commons spaces, a learning stair, and a new library. The cafeteria and main corridor in the HUB have a 25-foot clear height, providing an open and spacious setting for students and staff to enjoy.
The remainder of the project included a new, two-level ICF storm shelter addition serving as new wrestling room, lockers, and a weight room. Cafeterias and library areas were remodeled and re-purposed into new general classrooms, science classrooms, ART Labs, SPED classrooms including restrooms and collaborative areas. The CTE classrooms, CAD Lab, Materials Shop/Lab, and computer labs were also renovated.
