North Lake College Natatorium Renovation
Cadence McShane Construction Company was selected as the construction manager at risk for the renovation of the existing natatorium at North Lake College, located in Irving, Texas. The North Lake Natatorium is the only Olympic-size pool in Irving and is used by the USA Swim Club and local schools for swim team practices and competitions. The facility is shared by Irving ISD, the Dallas County Community College District, North Lake College and the City of Irving.
The natatorium renovation consisted of removing the current fabric, pressure-inflated roof structure of the pool facility and replacing with a permanent roof structure. Updates also include installing the HVAC systems and updating the pool area equipment, changing area and restroom facilities. Cadence McShane produced value engineering options during the preconstruction phase and reduced the final cost of the project by nearly 8%.
