Cadence McShane Construction Company is underway with construction on Sunset High School, a public secondary school located in the North Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas. This project is one of the final remaining projects within the 2015 Bond Program with Dallas Independent School District.
Designed by Corgan, the project design includes renovation and addition to the historic 1925 Oak Cliff campus. Additions will include a Fine Arts and Athletics wing, which will house a competition gym and serves as the campus storm shelter. Renovations involve replacement of windows and skylights, cleaning and resealing of exterior masonry, and reworking of the entry and admin area. Interior updates also include general lighting and finish upgrades throughout the building, along with MEP upgrades throughout the existing area. Renovations will also be made to the existing fields, so that they can be reworked along with parking and paving scope on site and in the annex.
The additions and renovations will strengthen the school’s unparalleled commitment to education, tradition and strong parent and community support.
“We are excited to work with Dallas ISD on Sunset High School,” shared Will Hodges, President of Cadence McShane. “We are looking forward to coordinating with Corgan and others on this historic campus by upgrading the interiors, while maintaining the 96-year-old landmark exterior.”
