Cadence McShane Construction – Morales Construction Services JV proudly announces the successful completion of the Sunset High School renovation and expansion project, a significant milestone within the 2015 Bond Program with the Dallas Independent School District.
Designed by Corgan, the project involved a renovation and addition to the historic 1925 Oak Cliff campus, solidifying Cadence McShane’s commitment to excellence in education construction. The additions include a state-of-the-art Fine Arts and Athletics wing, featuring a competition gym that doubles as a campus storm shelter. Renovations encompassed window and skylight replacements, exterior masonry cleaning and resealing, and enhancements to the entry and administrative areas. Interior updates include general lighting and finish upgrades, alongside MEP improvements throughout the existing space. The existing fields, parking, and paving were also revitalized to align with the project’s overall vision.
Wade Wimbish, Director of Education for Cadence McShane, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We are excited to have collaborated with Dallas ISD, Corgan, and our esteemed partners at Morales Construction Services in elevating Sunset High School’s historic campus. By upgrading interiors while preserving the 96-year-old landmark exterior, we’ve enhanced the district’s commitment to education, tradition, and community.”
This marks the successful completion of Cadence McShane’s first construction project with JV partners Morales Construction Services with two more projects currently underway.
